In 2014, Fountain Square in Indianapolis was a neighborhood in transition. The abandoned houses were being filled, crimes rates were dropping, and I was finding less and less bottle rockets left in my backyard. But much of what made this neighborhood a community was disappearing as well as families were forced to move away.
Many of these people and places have since been uprooted. Fountain Squared was an attempt to capture what I loved about growing up in the Fountain Square community, and these images still speak to the spirit of what the neighborhood once was.
Read an article I wrote about the series in 2014.
The collection was on display in the neighborhood in July 2015.
