Focusing on the communities around 38th and Illinois and the eastern stretch of 16th Street in Indianapolis, Tucker Krajewski and I spent the summer of 2016 digging into what it means to be a community on the brink of change. With communities and businesses disappearing is this change gentrification or development?
We poured over archives, looked into development plans, interviewed residents and community leaders - all in search of an answer. Each episode focuses on a different element of the neighborhood and seeks to build empathy and connection between listener and community.
